About the author

Liam Walker Bell grew up on his family farm in rural upstate New York. After a year of college he joined the Army, seeking adventure. He was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division where he was trained as a paratrooper. While there he graduated from Sniper School where he earned the Top Gun award. From the 82nd Airborne Division he joined the Special Forces (Green Beret) Division.

Walker Bell served as a sniper and combat advisor with the 7th Special Forces Group and spent 14 months in South Vietnam. During his activities in Vietnam, he was awarded the Silver Star, the Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts.

Following his service in Vietnam, Walker Bell was recruited to work with the U.S. Department of Defense and National Clandestine Service where he was sent on special assignments.

After completing his service to his country, Walker Bell settled in Southern California where he became a real estate executive. It was in his retirement that he followed his dream to become an author. Between Heartbeats is his first novel.

About the book

Ian McCord is a young man from rural upstate New York who’s bored with life and sets out seeking adventure.

In search of adventure, McCord joins the Army, where he learns to jump out of planes, becomes a sniper, and is assigned as a Special Forces (Green Beret) combat advisor in South Vietnam. Set in the early stages of the Vietnam War, no one can be trusted, and nothing is normal or expected.
